Allow me to introduce myself: I am Jamie Pitts and this is Memecat. I built this web site as an experimental way to organize video memes.
I thought it up a few months ago while walking my dog. While thinking about what to name my video meme aggregator, I felt that "meme" is not a word I would pair up with any dog, so I came up with the name Memecat. Apparently this word has ecently been connected to cat image macros - what the web now calls lolcats. This is a lucky coincidence.
Even if mispronounced (which it often is), Memecat evokes the sort of enjoyable timewastingness and fits perfectly in my life-long effort to spread happiness while ruthlessly undermining cultural norms.
