Unusual tributes to political and business figures, and even to inanimate objects such as places, concepts, and events, can be found all over YouTube. Here are a few of the best or most timely.
1. "I Got a Crush...On Obama" By Obama Girl
Er, "You can Barack me tonight?" NYC hottie Obama Girl obviously has more than just a crush on Senator Barak Obama. This tribute is a wonderful example of the inappropriate, but politically valuable feelings that voters can feel for their wished-for leader.
This tribute to the brilliant and unconventional Bobby Fischer is excellent, except for the soundtrack - it skips from ultra sappiness to a jumpstyle heart attack, and then back again. Actually, on second thought, this is appropriate.
This is about as timely as it gets, and Annie Lennox's cover of A Whiter Shade of Pale captures the morning-after-I-did-something-very-stupid feeling that people across the world must be experiencing as they peer into the economic abyss.
The theme to Mission Impossible or other high-powered theme song would also work with this tribute. Perhaps the author should just mix it in half-way through.
